Freedom of Information
Waterways Ireland operates a Freedom of Information Code of Practice. This Code of Practice has been approved by the North / South Ministerial Council and is effective from 1st February 2006. The Code is non-statutory and has been drafted with regard to the Freedom of Information Acts, 1997 and 2003 in Ireland and the Freedom of Information Act, 2000 in the United Kingdom. How do I Request Information?
A request for information held by Waterways Ireland should be made in writing or in electronic form. When making a request for information you will need to provide Waterways Ireland with your name and a reply address (which can be an e-mail address), and describe the information you wish to be provided. The description should contain sufficient particulars to enable the identification of that information in a reasonable manner.
