Notice is hereby given that Waterways Ireland proposes to prohibit navigation at the above location in accordance with Bye-Law 18 (1) of the Canals Act, 1986 (Bye-Laws), 1988, for the period commencing 1st May 2005 to the 1st May 2006. This closure is required for the following purposes:

• To undertake site investigation and survey works.
• To enable the design and construction of the permanent flood defence barrier and the installation of Sea Lock gates.
