Marine Notice No. 7 of 2005

ERNE NAVIGATION

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise all masters and users of the Erne Navigation, that "NO WAKE" signage has been erected in the channel bounded by Cleenish Island, Knock Island and the town lands of Tully, Ardtonagh and Cloonatrig on Upper Lough Erne.

The purpose of the signage is to minimise bank erosion in the area due to the excessive wash generated by passing vessels. Masters are requested to slow down to a speed sufficient to maintain steerage and a reduced wash when plying this section of the navigation.
